The Flower of Love

Once upon a time, long long ago, a girl waited for her Prince to come. Day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year, she waited and waited.

She saw her friends' Princes come along one after the other. But her Prince never showed. She was about to get discouraged and give up, but a beautiful flower grew in her garden. The flower was unlike any other flower she had ever seen before. The petals were bigger, the colors more brilliant, the fragrance far stronger than any other flower she had known. This flower gave her hope. Her friends continued to find their Princes, but every time she looked at the flower, she felt secure.

There was a season when suitors came by. With a long hard look at each suitor, she turned each one away. She didn't feel that any of the suitors were her ONE! Her flower kept her heart filled with hope each day.

Then one day, tragedy struck. The mean hand of fate crushed her flower. Her flower was gone and so was her hope. She held the crushed petals of the one thing that kept her going. She cried over each petal as she let it fall from her hand. As each petal fell, each petal was kissed with a tear. Each tear-stained petal fell into the river next to her garden. The flower petals floated down the river.

The flower petals floated down the river until they reached a Prince who was bathing in the river. The flower petals surrounded him in the shape of a heart. The Prince's heart made him pick up the flower petals. As he picked up the flower petals, the tears on the petals formed a letter. The Prince got out of the river. He dried himself and put his clothes on. He looked at the flower petals. The petals formed the name of a city. The Prince felt compelled to journey to that city. The next day, the Prince began his journey.

The girl had given up hope. She decided to just begin walking. She was gonna walk until she disappeared from the face of the earth. She began her journey.

The Prince journeyed to the city he had seen in the flower petals. The girl journeyed on a path that world surely be her end.

The girl had begun to grow weak and lose her strength after two and half days. Her body wanted to stop and rest. She refused to let herself rest. A few steps later, she collapsed.
The Prince was traveling to the city he had seen in the flower petals. He saw a body lying in the brush. He wanted to stop. His guardsman told him not to stop. The Prince didn't listen. He stopped and went over to the body. It was a beautiful girl. She looked as if she was sleeping, but the Prince checked her pulse to see if she was still alive. The Prince felt a faint pulse. He called for his guardsman to come help him carry the beautiful girl to his carriage.

The Prince and his guardsman carried the girl to the carriage. The Prince felt that his journey was over. He told his driver to head for the nearest city to get to a doctor. The driver did as he was commanded.

The girl woke up to see a drab white ceiling and to smell a faint medicinal smell. She knew that she couldn't be in Heaven, for Heaven would surely be more beautiful than this. A few minutes later, a nurse came by and asked her how she was doing.

The girl responded fine and asked the nurse where she was. The nurse told her that she was in the hospital. The girl asked the nurse who had brought her to the hospital. The nurse told her that a Prince has brought her. The girl smiled with amazement as she wondered if it could be so; could her Prince have rescued her from the deadly fate that awaited her.
