Snows Adrift

Snows adrift in my heart,
Thoughts of times long gone.
Family times brings thoughts wonderful,
Laughs, love, and more goes round and round.
Snowflakes falling, each one with a story to tell.
Snow angels on the streets all over town.
Long coats, furry hats, and dark gloves,
Light up the days, telling the weather report.
This is Winter's Wonderland...
Snuggling by the fire,
Marshmallows roasting away.
Warm hot cocoa, with a cinnamon splash.
Snows adrift in my heart,
Thoughts new take thoughts old place!

Illusions of Grandeur

There I go again,
Thinking too big.
Illusions of grandeur,
Messing up my wig.
Deeper and deeper,
Into the hole I dig.

A Christmas dinner,
To beat the one before.
Everyone smiling,
And me they adore.
Food so good,
They'll beg for more.

Food sure smells good,
For a minute or two.
There's a smoke smell,
What am I to do?
The turkeys burned,
And the rolls, too.

Illusions of grandeur,
Got me down.
Everyone is hungry,
All they do is frown.
No one wants to eat a turkey,
This golden brown.

Is Christmas Still Real?

Once again, it is that time of year
When we get together to share some cheer.
There is but on question, I’d like to ask,
For the truth, I wish to unmask.
Is Christmas Still Real?

There are toys being bought,
Special items being sought,
But has someone has took out the time to think
Of the true Christmas reason.
Have you thought of the reason
For this special season?
There is but on question, I’d like to ask,
For the truth, I wish to unmask.
Is Christmas Still Real?

The trees have been hung,
Christmas carols are being sung,
But do we really know why we do these things?
Is it for a special joy?
Is it for a special toy?
Are we being given a reward?
Are we receiving any Christmas cards?
There is but on question, I’d like to ask,
For the truth, I wish to unmask.
Is Christmas Still Real?
